At SOLEIL in Saclay, Paris we used some synchtron beamtime to do 3D tomography. The results need to be kept under wraps, more details will come soon!

The annual ALERT workshop in Aussois was followed by a course in “Advanced Experimental Geomechanics” with Ryan Hurley, Benjy Marks, Joshua Dijksman and Edward Ando. It came with a Github repository and a Zenodo community page to promote open science in the Geomechanics community.
To 2nd and 3rd year UvA physics students is fun. How can microscopic features provide macroscopic mechanical responses? Experimental work can guide the science!

Per September 1, Joshua will be working in the Soft Matter department of the Van der Waals – Zeeman Institute. For one more year he will be affiliated with Wageningen University for one day per week. The team will be active in both places!
